Maxwell Bentley
Seen In
At six years old, Maxwell picked up his mother's video camera and never gave it back.
His parents called it "love at first sight". He happily spent his childhood creating his own short films, catching editing mistakes in movies and TV shows, and dreaming of spending his life producing his own visual masterpieces.
He was always glued to the television, however unlike other kids his age, Maxwell wasn't into Star Wars, Harry Potter, or Spider-Man––he was obssessed with everyday commercials.
Even though he didn't always have the vocabulary to describe it, he was keenly aware of how commercials made him feel.
He felt excited during a Six Flags ad, hungry during a McDonalds ad, and confused during a prescription drug ad that spent more time listing the side effects than the benefits.
His knack for video at such a young age––along with his observations of how visuals, music, and messaging affected his emotions––would later become a key part of his life and career.
In 2007, Maxwell became one of the first teen YouTubers to go viral.
He frequently uploaded videos about his favorite game platform, Roblox, and eventually shared one that received over 2.5 million views.
Roblox's then creative director caught wind of Maxwell's YouTube videos, and offered him a paid position as a video content creator at just 17 years old.
As a young video creator who just attracted his first dream client, to say he was ecstatic would be an understatement.
Maxwell went on to edit a trailer for Roblox's new iPhone app that saw 100 million views online––a blockbuster case study that inspired him to start his own media company.
At age 20, Maxwell launched Bentley Media to help businesses around Atlanta get more customers by harnessing the power of video marketing.
Since then, he has partnered with hundreds of clients around the country, and has worked on projects for Disney, Hyundai, and Xbox that have touched millions of people.
In addition to serving his private clients, Maxwell has helped popularize "selfie video marketing", and has empowered thousands of entrepreneurs to crush on-camera anxiety in order to reach the customers they feel called to serve.
Maxwell often reports waking up without an alarm because he feels so jazzed up by his career.
He loves what he does, and he prefers to partner with those who feel the same. In his own words, he "wouldn't have it any other way."
